Community Tech Alliance is looking for a Data Analyst to drive partner solutions, develop partner resources, lead technical training efforts, and grow CTA’s contributions to the progressive ecosystem. Reporting to our Director of Partnerships and working alongside our product and engineering teams, you will lead efforts to make CTA’s technical offerings valuable to and actionable for partners. As a Data Analyst, you will be a key collaborator to both the CTA team and to our partners, ensuring our tools and technology enable progressive organizations to do their best work. You’ll work alongside the product and engineering teams to shape and maintain our data strategy and governance. You will develop resources CTA provides to partners – be it code, reporting templates, documentation, or other how-to’s – and will serve as a front-line technical advisor. You will recommend best practices to help partners speed their migration to CTA and will continually focus on how to help partners leverage our tools to meet their program objectives.
Community Tech Alliance is a group of progressive technologists and strategists formed to provide data infrastructure building blocks to the progressive ecosystem at a low cost. CTA seeks to uplevel program impact by unlocking the potential of data, using software and data engineering, and removing the barriers to entry. We are a small team of engineers, data practitioners, product managers, and strategists looking to create infrastructure for progressive change.
Community Tech Alliance believes strongly that:
Inclusive teams are strongest, and supportive work environments take investment, intentionality, and openness
Empathy is the cornerstone of building smart technology solutions
All team members should take ownership of the project and team’s development
Iteration is key, and smart solutions require action not perfection
Nothing great has been built without making mistakes and learning from them
As a Data Analyst, you should have:
Demonstrated data analysis experience and technical skills–using data, spreadsheets, SQL, and other tools to derive insights and program goals
Experience designing and building reporting dashboards, including experience with popular data visualization tools Google Data Studio and Tableau
Experience working day-to-day using a popular data warehouse, like Redshift or BigQuery, as well as knowledge of the Google Cloud or AWS ecosystem
A passion for teaching technical tools and for empowering individuals to learn new skills
Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, conflict resolution, and project management skills
Be able to work with, clarify, and find creative solutions for ambiguous and sometimes challenging requests from partners
It would be nice to have:
Experience with technical writing; experience designing, contributing to, or managing a documentation platform or knowledge base
Experience training and supporting users or experience creating training materials; experience leading those efforts is an additional plus
Experience (including volunteer!) in campaigns, politics, or with other groups in the progressive movement
Knowledge of organizing data or software like voter files or voter contact tools
