Job Description

We are seeking a multi-talented and dynamic Director of Operations to oversee and optimize the operational functions of our growing startup. This unique role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly and helping to grow our business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of operational efficiency and be comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Operational Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and implement efficient operational systems to streamline business processes and improve productivity across the company.

    • Oversee day-to-day operations including HR, legal, finance, and logistics, ensuring effective resource allocation, team coordination, and operational efficiency.

    • Lead operational planning, including budget management, vendor relationships, and logistics coordination.

    • Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, implementing solutions that enhance scalability.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between departments like sales, marketing, product development, and customer support.

    • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Metrics and Reporting:
    • Set and monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that the company is achieving its business goals.

    • Regularly report on operational performance and provide recommendations for optimizing processes.

  • Legal
    • Ensure CTA remains compliant with all state and federal regulations 
    • Coordinate with CTA's legal team and manage all contracting processes
  • HR
    • Direct all internal human resource functions including ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations 
    • Work collaboratively with leadership to foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment for our team 
    • Manage and process all benefits and ensure compliance 
    • Facilitate hiring processes 
  • Financial Management
    • Manage accounts payable/receivable and payroll from start to finish, providing transparency and reporting to the CEO and COO
    • Monitor and report on cashflow, projections, benefits, and other key financial health features 
    • Work closely with our accounting/bookkeeping team to ensure accounting software is always up to date and all reporting is readily available
    • Implement and ensure proper financial controls 
  • Events
    • Manage travel and event planning for in-person meetings and events

Job requirements

As our Director of Operations, you should have:

  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of experience in operations, ideally within a startup, campaign, or high-growth environment.

    • Proven experience managing operations with a track record of optimizing processes and driving successful marketing initiatives.

  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Deep understanding of operations strategies and compliance standards

    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and improve business outcomes.

    • Proficiency with marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot, Google Analytics) and operational software (e.g., project management tools like Jira, Asana, or Monday).

  • Personal attributes:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to tackling challenges.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    • Strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to align diverse teams around common goals.
    • Adaptable and open to new ideas, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • It would be great if you had:
    • Experience in politics, campaigns, or labor organizations.

Salary and Benefits

Salary and title commensurate with experience. Salary starting at $120,000 annually.
